David Turnbull transfer to Celtic still on despite reports to the contraryTransfers & Rumours
Despite claims to the contrary circulating gleefully among certain media outlets and Rangers fans, David Turnbull’s transfer to Celtic will still go ahead, despite the player failing a medical over a knee injury.
According to BBC pundit, Tam McManus, the 19-year-old’s £3 million transfer will still go ahead ‘100%’ but issues arose when his medical flagged up a knee injury that will require a minor operation and sideline the Motherwell midfielder for 10 to 12 weeks.
According to McManus: “David Turnbull has a small problem with his knee that requires an op (tidy up). Be out for 10-12 weeks. That’s it.
“Some of the shite I have heard about him on here [social media] is poor & embarrassing. Hurtful rumours about the kid. The deal will 100% still go through.”
Celtic’s pursuit of Turnbull is certainly one to forget as soon as it is completed, but Celtic’s due diligence and patience in their dealings with the kid, his agent and Motherwell looks to have paid off at any rate.
For Celtic, they won’t be saddled with a Jordan Rossiter or another Derk Boerrigter, when they sign Turnbull and the kid’s career at Celtic, while put on hold until he recovers from the knee op, will eventually begin.
